Kudryavtsev Yu. V. Effect of load and power factor on fuel consumption of marine diesel-generator set
Derived in the article are formulas for calculation of marine diesel-generator fuel consumption and specific consumption in case of changes in electric load and power factor (cos j). Also calculated are fuel consumption and specific consumption as applied to marine diesel-generator set with rated electric power of 763 kW under changing of load and power factor. The results of calculation are compared to diesel-generator ratings.
Statsenko V. N., Sumenkov V. M. Technical and economic features of the use of water fuel emulsions in marine boilers
Analyzed in the article is the problem of cheap residual fuel (with increased viscosity, mechanical admixtures, asphaltenes, sulfur, ashes etc.) as well as water fuel emulsions on their basis, that, being used in marine boilers, result in changing technical and ecological features of boilers systems. The authors represent experimental data on water fuel emulsion viscosity alteration in case of increase in marine boiler КВГ-34К fuel moisture content, recommended temperatures of fuel heating before nozzle, changes of fuel preparation system hydraulic resistance. Also presented are experimental data on smoke fumes toxicity reduction due to the decrease of nitric and carbon oxides and soot particles.

Examined in the article are methods and engineering solutions of improvement of electrical propulsion installations and marine axial-flow electrical fan on the basis of drive asynchronous counterrotating motors as well as structural transformation of electromagnetic systems and bearing units of abovementioned motors.

Considered in the article is the problem of ensuring fire resistance on board the ship. The authors analyze the existing methods of sealing the cable routings in bulkheads and note its advantages and disadvantages. In order to enhance the efficiency of cable routings fire safety a design of a new prospective sealing device is proposed.
