In order to define ice performance of new vessels of FSUE «Krylov Shipbuilding and Research institute», environmental tests of icebreaker «Saint-Petersburg» were held in Kara sea, and vessel ice performance parameters were acquired. Test results presented in the article affirmed truth of design solutions and successful completion of Customer specification requirements.
Nazarov A.G. Design peculiarities of twin-hull ships of commercial, pleasure and special purpose
This article generalizes twin-hull ships design experience, analyses approaches to main dimensions feasibility and selection of hull structure and shape parameters, defines ship performance and strength estimation issues. Test results are systematized and examples of twin-hull ship projects are presented.

Kuznetsov V.A. Universal nuclear-powered icebreaker should possess effective reactor facility
This article evaluates the technical project of reactor facility, proposed by specialists of JSC «EDB Africantov». It is emphasized, that proposed project of integral-type reactor brings domestic reactor industry on state-of-the-art level. The following is proposed to increase economical efficiency: icebreaker project update - replacement of atomic 2-reactor plant with 1-reactor plant of 300 MW capacity; development of reactor core, which size would allow gradual increase of energy margin up to 20-25 TW*h, in order to recharge reactor core in perspective once in 40 years of icebreaker service.

This article brings statistical investigations results of functional reliability of impeller pumps in ship diesel plants in form of safety and maintainability index. Pumps performance level is defined. Ratios between working hours of repair, maintenance and repairs are set. Relative expenses for technical recovery of main assemblies are evaluated.

The author describes a number of topical issues of mechanical and assembly operations – transportation, loading/unloading of heavy-weight equipment assembly units under no-crane availability conditions. This article defines most effective methods of equipment assemblies’ relocation and sets problem of appropriate investigations, as well as proposes the ingenious compensation method of potential overloads in power connections by means of compensating units, which show not only considerable elastic flexibility and lifting capacity but also allow determining load intensity visually on each lifting device.
