Klimashevsky S.N. About the problem of calculating determination of un-derwater cargo-carrying ships displacement at the early stages of design
The author proposes procedure and normative documents for calculating determination of volumetric and weight displacement of main types of UCCS. Calculation is made by constituents of indicated displacements. Publication is based upon statistic data, mate-rials of special research that have been being executed for many years in CRI named after academician A.N. Krylov in the field of such themes.

Rodionov V. A. Analysis of modern water-jet propulsors efficiency and possible direction of their improvement
The author tells about advantages of water-jet propulsors (WJP), about all-round re-searches and calculations of movement features of vessels and ships with WJP held by CRI named after academician A. N. Krylov.

Polischuk S.P. Method of determination of elementary area size for search of topologically weak places in the process of ship design
It is proved that method of automatic search of topologically weak places in arrange-ment of shipboard systems has low efficiency if the elementary area size is set arbi-trary, scientifically groundlessly. Definitions of contrast factors are introduced, and op-timum criterion is grounded.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Lerman E.Yu., Gorshkov V.F., Baranovsky V.V. Marine diesel engineering: modern situation and prospects
Materials about modern situation and prospects of development of national marine die-sel engineering are presented. Necessity of state support of national engineering in-dustry enterprises for prevention of losing of engine-building power status by Russia is grounded.

Baranovsky V.V. Grounding of selection of main power plants at the stage of ship research design
The author gives the theory basics and methods of grounding of optimum variants of main power plants at the early stages of ships design. In contrast to traditional proce-dure, here the type, composition and schematic design of installation are determined upon specified parameters of main PP.

Danilov A.T., Lastovtsev A.Yu. Influence of ice condition upon perform-ance temperatyre mode of main condensers of nuclear icebreakers
Experience in operation of condenser plant of «Russia» type nuclear icebreakers de-pending on ice condition is described. Experimental influences of main condensers op-erational modes at various temperatures of sea water and main turbo aggregate load are given. Recommendations for enhancement of water intake design and increase of icebreakers’ steam turbine plant reliability are given.

MARINE ELECTRICAL AND RADIO EQUIPMENT

Markov V.G., Lozovoy A.V. Use of radiating coaxial cables for control of antennas in air and conducting mediums
The authors consider problems of building and utilization of radiating coaxial cables with holes in external conductor for control of antennas in air and conducting mediums. Particular features of operation and building of radiating coaxial cables intended for control of antennas in conducting mediums are underlined.

Muravchenko V.L. Method for reduction of spurious radiation of shipboard radio transmitters
It is proposed to use cosine-shape signals with cutoff of upper part at the level of 60° in wide-band power amplifiers of shipboard radio transmitters. Data that proves decrease of spurious radiation of such amplifiers in comparison with amplifiers that use signals of traditional shape without cutoff of upper part is presented.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS

Kuzyutina M.Yu., Konopatsky V.M. Main tendencies in structural reorgani-zation of shipbuilding industry
Condition of shipbuilding industry from the beginning of economic reform in 1992 is analyzed. The authors propose some measures of organizational-institutional and in-dustrial-technological character for the goal of works integration in major structures for reception of maximum economic effect.

SHIPBUILDING AND MARINE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

Kovalyov I.V., Matveev S.A., Kuklin O.S. Prospectives of use of computer modeling during creation of new generation bending-straightening equipment
Upon specific examples some aspects of use of modern engineering analysis systems during creation of new generation bending-straightening machines are considered. Ef-ficiency of associated and successive use of computer modeling on all stages of de-signing and construction is shown.

Abacharaev I.M., Abacharaev M.M. Experience in use of gas-thermal coat-ings for protection of metal structures from biofouling
The authors describe results of investigation in determination of efficiency of use in shipbuilding of technologies of application of plasma coating that have anti-biofouling properties in case of including bactericidal elements in their composition. On the basis of laboratory tests for leaching of nitinol (45 % Ti + 55 % Ni) coatings with admixture of (20-30) % of copper, (5-10) % of antimony and (1-3) % of cadmium  the most efficient composition of coating, that contains 80 % of nitinol, 19,2 % of copper and 0,8 % of be-ryllium, is selected.

REPAIR AND MODERNIZATION OF SHIPS

Baranov P.S., Poznyak K.S. Operation of NS return into initial position af-ter its overturn in floating dock
The authors describe the CDB MT «Rubin»-developed operation of straightening NS that had overturned in floating dock during rising of the latter.

Kalistratov N.Ya, Repin A.V., Tupitsyn S.S. Provision of over-normative service life of RCKS of NS circulation lines
Results of works in application of repair of rubber-cord compensating kicking sockets (RCKS) of 667BDRM type NS circulation lines at EW «Zvyozdochka» are considered.

UTILIZATION OF SHIPS

Antropov V.A., Alexandrov N.I., Rozinov A.Ya. Particular features of utili-zation of nuclear technological service ships
The authors analyze condition of NTS ships (floating tanks, special technical tankers, FTB, tugs, barges etc.) that provide transfer of spent nuclear fuel, fluid and hard wastes to centers of prolonged storage and processing. Concept of putting of such ships from service developed by CRIST is given.
