SHIP DESIGN

Kryzhevich G. B. Strength and design of auger amphibian vehicle
The paper considers the problem of determination of limit strength of amphibian vehicle's auger propulsor under effect of extreme loads. The efficiency of utilization of various metal materials for manufacture of auger propulsor is compared.

Startzev S. B. Forecasting of efficiency of ship steering wing controllers
The author tells about a method of forecasting of stationary hydrodynamic characteristics of ship rudders and stabilizers working in irregular flow and about a mathematic model elaborated on the basis of vortical theory of finite span wing for calculation of such characteristics at any scales and shapes of approach flow distortion zone.

Kulikov N. V., Sazonov K. E. Steerability of pushed train in compact ice
Problems of tug/barge trains steerability in ice conditions are analyzed. Results of calculations of circulation parameters and loads in coupling mechanism made according to the elaborated mathematic model are given.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Zvinyatsky A. Ya. Nuclear submarine of project 675 - the era in national naval shipbuilding
A brief history of building nuclear submarines of project 675 in Komsomolsk-on-Amure at factory No. 199 (later "Amur Shipyard") in the beginning of the 60's is given. The article tells about the building technology and the first utilization of titanium alloys.

Kozhevnikov A. N. On problems of national naval shipbuilding in the XXI century
The situation in shipbuilding industry at the borderline of the XX and the XXI centuries is analyzed. The directions of future development of national shipbuilding and, in particular, design bureaus are considered.

MARINE ELECTRICAL AND RADIO EQUIPMENT

Yakovlev A. F. Approximate calculation of log-periodic antennas
The article proposes simple formulas that make it possible to carry out an approximate calculation of optimal geometric characteristics of dipole log-periodic antennas and log-periodic structures with trapezoidal teeth for realization of a desired operating frequency range, width of directivity diagram or directivity factor and also for evaluation of antenna overall dimensions, the latter being a significant feature at arrangement of antenna aboard the ship.

HULL GEAR AND ARRANGEMENTS

Stepanov A. M., Feodorov A. L. Slit cavitation in shipboard axial-flow pumps
The article considers a method of elimination of slit cavitation in shipboard axial-flow pumps by installation of a rim on blades of rotor and utilization of labyrinth seal. Results of experimental investigation are given.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS

Klopov A. E. Competitiveness of cargo ships in the conditions of economics globalization
The author analyzes the competitiveness of cargo ships at all the stages of their life cycle on the basis of CALS technologies and also taking into consideration the national export control procedures.

Ovchinnikov I. D. Feedback in enterprise management system
The article tells about an enterprise management system based upon feedback, one subsystem of which is a quality management system. Components of feedback as a management process are given.

Abramova M. A. The concept of "scientific potential" and methodical possibilities of its evaluation
The article gives systematization of concepts and the structure of scientific potential and reveals, on the basis of a particular methodology, the drawbacks of existing technical approaches in evaluation of scientific potential of a scientific organization.
