AT SHIPYARDS

CIVIL SHIBUILDING

Zamukov V. V., Baburkin A. E., Doroshchenko A. V., Belchenkov S. V. Low-output floating nuclear powerplant. The main results of performed by Federal State Unitary Enterprise «SPMBE «Malakhit» development works for various versions of floating nuclear power plants are presented. Fundamental possibility to create a power-plant with reactor installation using liquid-metal coolant is shown. Such type of power-plant represents inherent nuclear and radiation safety as well as high level of environmental safety.

Rudenko S. A. For every kind of naval architecture – its own field of application. Advantages and disadvantages of architectural and structural layouts of ships with small waterplane area, with outriggers, as well as of traditional single-hull ships are represented in respect to habitability, mass load, stability and floodability, propulsion qualities, navigability, maneuverability, seaworthiness, shipbuilding and repair technology.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Dergachov F. G. The world’s first titanic atomic submarine, project 661. The information is given about construction of the world’s first titanic high-speed missile submarine pr.661. The drawings and photos of the ship are presented.

Loza A. V., Loza A. A. Galley equipment of the early 20 century’s «Sokol»-class destroyers and of modern corvettes. The authors tell about created at the beginning of the XXth century type galleys for «Sokol»-class destroyers and about introduced early in the XXIst century universal calorific equipment for cooking — «steamconvectomats» — on board the corvette «Steregushchy».

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Pashin V. M., Sviridov G. M. Novel design principles of powerful static converters for electric propulsion systems. The paper addresses one of the critical issues in modern ship electric engineering: elimination of negative effects of powerful static converters (SC) on ship’s power equipment and electronics (one of the EMC aspects). The suggested principle opens possibilities for development of ship electric power system with propulsion system of the following configuration: «synchronous generator — frequency converter — synchronous propulsion motor» with appreciably enhanced power and mass & dimension parameters, reduced fuel consumption and low vibration activity.

MARINE EQUIPMENT

Berestovitsky E. G., Obukhovsky S. A. Low-noise as a criterion of quality in designing of hydraulic devices. A guidance basis for designing low-noise hydraulic devices has been examined. A method to evaluate their vibroacoustic characteristics has been developed allowing to select and optimize at the design stage the basic parameters of the hydraulic devices.

Bashurov B. P., Nosenko E. S. Expert-statistical investigation of functional reliability of centrifugal pumps in cargo systems of oil tankers. The results of expert-static investigation of functional reliability of centrifugal pumps in cargo systems of oil tankers are presented. The dependencies of varying failure-free operation attributes on operating time are obtained in the form of failure flow and probability of failure-free operation parameter. Causes of failures are defined and the units and items with the lowest functional reliability are disclosed. The turbine-driven cargo pumps’ displacement and fracture dynamics during unloading operations are provided.

MARINE INSTRUMENT ENGINEERING

Konnikov I. A. The use of Elmore’s method for calculation of electromagnetic fields in radiolocation and microelectronics. A new approach to estimation of electromagnetic field in layered media of different physical nature is proposed which is based on the use of quasistationary approximation to the field estimation. To evaluate the required approximation degree and transient phenomenon parameters in communication channel the Elmore’s method (method of moments) is offered to use. The approach can be used in radiolocation, microelectronics and other technical applications.

Yoltukhovsky V. M., Kozlov A. A. Anti-mine protection of USSR Navy warships and submarines (1941—1945). The problems of anti-mine protection of USSR Navy warships and submarines during the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945 are investigated. Technical and organizational solutions of ships’ degaussing problems on different fleets are examined.

ECONOMICS AND FINANCIES

Logachov S. I. The analysis of the world’s practice of government support in shipbuilding industry. The review of taken by the government steps as a regulation tool in development of national shipbuilding in EU countries, Norway, South Korea, Japan, China and USA is provided.

SHIPBUILDING ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Gavrilyuk L. P. The grounds for selection of technique for monitoring hull structures’ deviations from circular configuration. The techniques of monitoring cylindrical hull structures’ deviations from circular configuration are given as well as the proposals to perfect this operation by using modern measurement instrumentation.

FOREIGN INFORMATION SHIPBUILDING AND FLEET HISTORY

Alexushin G. V. The role of the governor’s authority in the development of shipbuilding in XVIII—XIX centuries. The author tells of an influence of the governor’s authority (the governor, the board, the chancellery, etc.) on the formation and development of shipbuilding in Russian provinces, on the creation of the Russian Society of Shipping and Commerce and the Voluntary fleet and also on the recovery of the domestic fleet after the defeat in the Russian-Japanese war of 1904—1905.

Afonin N. N. The leader «Tashkent». The description of the designing and construction of the destroyers’ leader «Tashkent», one of the most famous Soviet Navy ships, is given.

Yarovoy V. V. The armored ship «Imperator Alexander II». The author traces the history of design, construction and voyages of the armored ship «Imperator Alexander II» (since 1892 – armoured destroyer, since 1907 — battleship) and describes the updating of the ship and its participation in World War I and in the civil war in Russia.
