AT THE SHIPYARDS

SHIP DESIGN

Boytsov G. V., Kudrin M. A. Evaluation of fatigue strength of ship's hull structural assemblies
The authors give analysis of influence of sea parameters, hull geometrics and structural assemblies design upon ship's fatigue life. Design formulas for verification of fatigue strength of hull and its structural assemblies are given.

Nosov E. P., Ryzhov V. A. Influence of elasticity upon efficiency of fin propulsers
Influence of elasticity upon propulsive features of fin propulsion-steering complexes (FPSC) is considered. Designs of fins with elastic links, fully elastic fins and fins with adjustable elasticity are given. Conclusion on good prospects of utilization of elastic fins in multi-modes FPSC is made.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Zharinov A. V. Stages in development of hydrodynamics, stability and steerability of national submarines from mid-1940s up to present time and the role of TsAGI in this process
Historic review of TsAGI participation in salvation of problems of hydrodynamics, stability and steerability of national submarines from mid-1940s up to present time is given.

Antonov A. M. From "Seawolf" to "Virginia"
Combatant features of US Navy "Los Angeles" and "Seawolf" nuclear submarines are analyzed. Design particulars of a new generation nuclear submarine "Virginia" are given. Ways of the Navy development in new military-political and economic situation are considered.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Startzev S. B. Computer simulation of screw propeller operation in non-uniform flow
The author considers the results of development of propeller blade vortex model based upon vortex theory of lifting surface in consideration of finite span wing moving by spiral trajectory. Program of calculation of hydrodynamic features (HDF) of screw propeller on PC makes it possible to predict summarized and distributed torque-force loads at blades in their interaction with non-uniform flow of any form and degree of aberration. The model takes into consideration the influence of vortex trail upon screw propeller HDF; it is applicable for blades of optional form in plan. Utilization of the program is efficient at the stage of screw propellers design.

Fayvisovitch A. V. Fatigue strength and crack resistance of screw propeller blades of "Marshall Budiony" type vessels
Screw propeller blades strength of "Marshall Budiony" series of vessels is examined. Upon the analysis of a blade stress condition and experimentally obtained parameters it is shown that propeller's strength is influenced by existence of crack-like flaws. The author proposes a methodical approach and gives rating of these flaws dimensions with consideration of their locations upon driving surface of a blade.

Kolpakov S. P. Utilization of fuel suspensions in shipboard steam boilers
The author presents the results of experimental investigations of preparation and incineration of fuel suspensions based on oil residue, oily waters and solid fraction (carbon dust, smoke black, graphite).

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS

Suslov A. N., Odegova O. V., Golovko E. A. Practice of work with standard STEP
Works of shipyards connected with development and manufacturing application of CALS-technologies are announced. Examples of works with ST-Developer software are given. Necessity of first-priority salvation of the problem of integral logistic support of marine technique is underlined.

German G. V. Optimal alternate technology of shipboard wiring works. Methods and algorithms of planning tasks salvation
The author recites a new approach to statement and salvation of problems of planning of optimal alternate technology of shipboard wiring works (WW) with system basis. Analysis of existing WW technology planning methods is executed, proposals for composition of WW optimal alternate technology planning tasks (aggregative and detailed) and stages of their salvation are given. Typical block-diagram of planning tasks that takes into consideration the system links is presented.

Kobzev V. V., Nefedovitch A. V. Ergonomic analysis of shipboard technicians activities in emergency situations
The article analyses the influence of two factors - professional readiness of a technician and algorithmic difficulty of anti-emergency tasks salvation - upon efficiency of operators' of shipboard technical means control systems activities in emergency situations.

SHIPBUILDING MATERIALS

Petrov V. D., Ushkov S. S. Condition and prospects of development of high quality titanium alloy tubes manufacture at Russian enterprises
The author informs about a complex of works that have been carried out from the 60s of the XX century and are connected with development of technology of various purpose titanium alloys tubes manufacture; about the difficulties in delivery of titanium tubes for shipboard systems and systems of nuclear power engineering. He proposes a salvation for this problem in Russia with engagement of FSUE CRISM "Prometey" scientific manpower and a range of manufacturers in case of corresponding financing.

Ushkov S. S., Suvorov N. V., Kudryavtsev A. S., Karasyov E. A., Titov Yu. A., Dmitrienko A. M., Kuznetsov V. F. Mastering of manufacture of thin-walled titanium tubes of premium quality for heat-exchange equipment of ships and nuclear power stations
The article considers the results of quality examination of thin-walled welded tubes manufactured of titanium alloy at tube-forming mill. Utilization of titanium alloys permits to create light-weight structures. Welded thin-walled tubes manufactured of titanium alloys satisfy the requirements of certificates and provide saving of weight for 45 % and more.
