The article discloses the results of bench and service tests of hydrocarbon fuel molecular modification devices by electric fields on diesel engines. During the above-mentioned tests the authors succeeded to reduce fuel specific consumption and to improve ecological properties of engines.

Grounded in the article is the importance of taking into account the bevel cut value of nozzles with small outlet angle when choosing their degree of expansion. Also represented is snap formula for calculating optimum expansion degree of nozzles with outlet angles of 5°.
