VII International Maritime Defense Show has come to end in St. Petersburg
VII International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS) has come to the end in St. Petersburg. It is one of the most large-scale exhibitions of maritime equipment and armament both in Russia and abroad.
Representatives of 28 countries took part in IMDS-2015 this year, 423 enterprises became participants of the exposition, 40 of which are foreign companies.
At the exhibition opening ceremony welcome speeches were given by: Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, Governor of St. Petersburg Georgiy Poltavchenko, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation Vladimir Bulavin, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Victor Chirkov.
Aerobatic teams «Strizhy», «Russkiye Vityazi» and «Russ» demonstrated the most challenging aerobatic maneuvers - «Pugachev’s Cobra», «Diamond», «Wedge» ,«Joint Roll», «Loop» and many others.
Visitors of the show were able to see and visit warships, motor boats and a submarine.
Within the scope of IMDS-2015, JSC “SSTC” was highly appraised for its state-of-the-art developments in the area of shipbuilding and ship repair, established new business contacts, got motivated for development of new business lines.
Specialists were highly interested in the modern shipbuilding project of JSC “SSTC” resulting from development of production capacity for Shipyard “Severnaya Verf”, presented in the form of interactive electronic model, which clearly demonstrated how advanced and up-to-date solutions proposed by SSTC are, as well as economic and social significance of new capacities creation.
SSTC’s exposition was visited by representatives of the high-ranking authorities and top management of the industry: Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Admiral Viktor Chirkov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Andrey Dutov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Gulnaz Kadyrova, Director of Department of Shipbuilding and Marine Technique of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Maksim Kochetkov, President of United Shipbuilding Corporation Alexey Rahmanov, First Vice-President of United Shipbuilding Corporation Leonid Strugov, Director General of Krylov State Research Center Vladimir Nikitin and many others.
A keen interest in SSTC’s exposition confirms relevance of the solutions proposed for shipbuilding industry. Following IMDS-2015 results, JSC “SSTC” has been acknowledged as the Award Winner in nominations: “For the Best Exhibit” and “For the best Exposition”.
Within IMDS 2015 the 3rd International scientifically-practical conference «Simulation and complex modelling in marine engineering and marine transporting systems» – «SCM MEMTS 2015» has been conducted, one of co-organizers of the conference is JSC “SSTC”. The conference was focused on the following: designing, construction and operation of vessels and marine techniques; designing, manufacturing and operation of equipment and arms of marine techniques; sea transport systems, sea and river cargo transportation, logistics; shipbuilding and ship repair facilities, ports.
Authors of reports, and also listeners of the conference represented 46 organizations, enterprises, companies and higher educational institutions of Russia, Germany, Latvia, Belarus and Czech Republic.
