On 9 of June, 2005 the CRIST held a conference

On 9 of June, 2005, the CRIST held a conference “Perspective technologies for creation of ship fire-fighting structures with use of heat- expanding and heat-insulating materials”, with participation of over 50 representatives from major marine research institutions, design bureaus and manufacturers, including 1st Naval Research Institute and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. 

Within the frames of the conference products of more than 10 Russian and foreign manufacturers of fire-resistant and protective materials were presented.

10 reports and brief informative statements were made at the conference. Reports were made by leading scientists and specialists from RTC Sudotechnologiya (the CRIST), Central Marine Research Institute, Moscow State University, Prometey Institute, 1st Naval Research Institute, Central Design Bureau Rubin, as well as from such companies, as Krilak Assitiation, Ivot-Steklo, Utro, Ragos, Mineral Cotton-Rockwool.

The participants appreciated the vitality of issues, related to fire and heat protection, and acknowledged its importance in their reports.

The participants appreciated the initiative of the CRIST to hold the conference and good level of preparation for the event.

The conference resulted not only in exchange of experience and information, but also in development of common recommendations for technologies of manufacturing of fire-resistant ship structures with use of heat-expanding and insulation materials.

We can forecast that a number of agreements will be concluded after the conference for R&D activities.
