Automated system Ritm-Sudno


System Ritm-Sudno is designed for resolving specific tasks during pre-production engineering periods at the stage of design and construction of ships.

The system is designed on a modular basis, controlled through relational project databases, and consists of graphic AutoCAD-based kernel and functional program tools for the following tasks:

1.Project management
Relational project database is controlled through program tools of module Project-Specification.

Module functions:

  • Keeping project database (tables of structural models, parts, drawings, materials, nesting charts, process waste products);
  • Parts and nesting data exchange between users.

Project data are controlled with program tools, realized as AutoCAD applications.

2. Design of vessel 3D model
For making 3D model of the vessel, Ritm-Sudno offers the following modules:

1. Module: Generation and modification of ТЧ — generation of vessel surface equation by 80 parameters, describing main dimensions, shape of frames on Hull projection, shape of stem and stern post, with adjustment of hull configuration to preset hydrostatic parameters (block coefficient, longitudinal center of buoyancy). Diverse designing is optionally available.

After calculations, ship configuration in the form of main sections are by means of export command converted to 3D geometric model of ship hull.

2. Module: Model – initialization and adjustment of 3D geometrical model with automatic identity of lines, making coordinate systems, views and view screens. The module processes 2- and 2D skeleton models, exported from such systems as Foran, Tribon, etc., generates loft molding book.

3. Module: Construction – automatic generation of adjoining lines and cross-sections of inner ceilings and horizontal structures (such as decks, platforms, double-bottom, tanks, etc.) with consideration of various bending and sheer shapes (horizontal, inclined, broken, etc.) on the base of summarized project descriptions. The module performs design of intermediate frames, butts, slots, junction lines of outer plating, decks and longitudinal bulkheads. Generates coordinate tables for designed structures, lines of shell plating expansion plan.

Mechanism of versions and revisions is used for diverse designing. The structures can be easily changed in case of changing of hull configuration or input of new data.

4. Module: Parametrizer – interactive and parametrical description of structures components with the help of procedures of problem-oriented language. The module generates parametrical descriptions of plate parts, arranges holes for profiles to pass through in the model with consideration to regular patterns. Allows working with standard parts, parametric cuouts and other components. Previously worked out procedures can be easily combined and adapted to the specific features of a new project.

5. Module: Geometry – generation of geometrical shape for basic components of 3D model (points, lines, local surfaces). The module allows to structure the model and assign surfaces as identified objects. The module has tools for checking shape and operations of components interference. As an option, the module generates plate and profile parts of hull structures in 3D models and gives expansions of plate items.
Using a special tree, the module can generate an hierarchic model of drawings, structures and parts.

5. Module: Routing – solid state modeling of pipelines inside ship compartments with parametric description of components or importing them from an exterior file.

6. Module: Routes – automatically divides pipelines into separate pipes (installation of joints) and supports geometrical database of routes coordinates.

3. Development of design documents for the project (drawings, specifications, etc.).
Compliance of design documents to ESKD requirements is ensured by modules Drawing and Project-Specification, which perform the following tasks on the basis of 3D ship model:

  • Arrangement of drawings, placement of frames, title blocks, views and signs on sheets;
  • Application of special symbols in the drawing (midship section, sections, etc.), X-axis with lines net, shading of assembly joints and slots;
  • Setting potion numbers and dimensions in the drawing;
  • Identification of missing hull components (cutouts, necks, scuppers);
  • Generation weight load tables.

Enumeration of parts can be done in two modes: designer mode with generating specification of the database after arrangement of positions in the drawing, and technologist mode, where positions numbers are taken from specification and are marked in the drawing thereafter. Calculation of weight and dimension parameters can be optionally automated.

Modules Routing and Pipes provide issuing design documents for pipelines with the following functions:

  • Generation of assembly drawing with automatic numbering of items/parts;
  • Preparing specification for allocated pipelines;
  • Making sketches for pipes manufacturing.

Support module Armature keeps database of pipe joints, such as flanges, branch pipes, welded parts and nipples.

4. Development of process documents for the project (estimative and processing charts, nesting charts, specifications, etc.)
Technological documents for the project are prepared on the basis of project database and 3D model of the ship.

Module: Part – provides dimensional shaping of parts, interactive description of parts as per their sketches, including processing features (bevels, tolerances) for their manufacturing, various marking lines, textual information, etc., as well as shaping of profile parts, including bended ones, with automatic calculation of inverse lines and bending data.

Module: Nesting-Hull – is intended for nesting of material and generation of control programs for cutting metal with CNC machines. The module provides:

  • Setting cutting parameters for plates;
  • Making groups for joint nesting;
  • Automatic and interactive preparation of charts for thermal and mechanical cutting, panel nesting;
  • Interactive generation and correction of nesting charts for thermal and mechanical cutting, and for panel nesting (shares, butt joints, periodical arrangement, monitoring nesting ratio);
  • Design and correction of plate cutting sequence (punch points and cuts direction, “bridges”, combined cuts, combining parts in one continuous contour, etc.);
  • Automatic definition of marking path for web application lines;
  • Generation of control programs for cutting and marking in necessary format and coding for CNC machines (Crystal, Granat, Ritm-M, Pella, Cometa, etc.);
  • Issuing documents (registers of nesting charts, parts in nesting charts, metal consumption, process waste, bent part) in Excel format.

Module Technology-Hull provides automated designing of parts manufacturing process on the basis of their parameters and technological knowledge. The module allows to:

  • Describe technological features of a part (technological parameters reference book);
  • Describe procedures and flow charts;
  • Fill out and test knowledge base on technological processes and procedures;
  • Provide programmed calculation of procedures parameters and recording them to project database;
  • Automatically generate part manufacturing procedure;
  • Edit and amend the automatically obtained procedure;
  • Provide issuing output documents for item manufacturing procedure.
Module: Assembly-Hull provides automated designing of production processes for manufacturing assembly units on the base of their 3D models and databases Hull Structure and Hull Work Technology. The module allows to:

  • Design manufacturing procedures for assembly units (unit, sub-section, section, block);
  • Calculate labor input for technological procedures;
  • Define material and labor resources for technological procedures;
  • Estimate welding modes;
  • Issue manufacturing drawings for assembly units.

Module: Pipes is intended for automated implementation pipes manufacturing technology as per analytic data without templates. The module provides the following:

  • Keeping relational database on pipes for the project (tables of spacifications and geometry);
  • Interface support of geometrical data from other CAD systems;
  • Modeling of pipes bending and assembly with consideration to kinematic parameters of machines and elastic/plastic deformations;
  • Documentation of textual and graphic results of program work;
  • Support of reference databases (machinery, tools, materials and pipe joints);
  • Generation of control programs for manufacturing pipes with CNC machines.

The module provides functioning of CNC pipe-bending machines and stands for pipes assembly.

Modules: Nesting-Pipes and Store perform nesting of pipe blanks by optimizing algorithm with automatic selection of blanks from the store and return of process waste.

Module Technology-Pipes is intended for assigning of planning and accounting units, labor input calculations, receiving of various reference information.

Module: Measurement – performs processing of results, exported from measuring systems. The module performs calculation or correction of insert pipes dimensions as well as of assembly size for regular pipes with welded flanges.

5. Design of appliances for manufacturing parts and assembly units.
System Ritm-Sudno offers tools for resolving the following tasks:

  • Calculation of data and issuing documents for manufacturing of bending tools (templates, frames) for manufacturing of non-flat parts from plates;
  • Calculation of inverse curves for bending of profiles;
  • Calculation of data and issuing documents for manufacturing and adjustment of welding/assembly and universal (coke) beds;
  • Calculation of data and issuing documents for marking of shell plates.

Estimation data for beds include templates arrangement schemes, parts for template beds, data for adjustment of cokes.

Estimation data for beds include reference lines, contour sketches marks for frames, stiffeners, bulkheads and other components of ship structures.
