Pontoon «Sevan» – the universal vehicle for transportation of large scale metalware The article represents brief description and design parameters of carrying pontoon «Sevan», project 426MB, created by means of additional outfitting of barge-platform project 426M, with the view of its using for sleetproof stationary platform ЛСП-1 pontooning and transporting to the place of its operation on the Yu. Korchagin offshore deposit in southern region of the Caspian Sea. Also described are methods of pontoon’s ballasting and deballasting for its’ inletting and outletting under the ЛСП-1.

Emelyanov M. D. Critical elements of sea crafts The author reviews the scheme of risks assessment regarding hazard’s main species and subspecies, as well as «ship-cargo-man» system critical elements. Critical elements failure can result in high risk of causing damage, so also reviewed is correspondence table allowing to detect the damage level due to the description of consequences depicted in the ship’s extra survey report in case of emergency. The results were received on the basis of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping data processing for the period of 1993–2007.

Kuteynikov M. A. Trends of mixed navigation ships strength requirements development The author presents the ways of ships navigability rating by means of strength requirements development subject to wave statistics. The solution of rating problem is based on wind-induced wave statistical data.

Creation of 175000 t dwt bulk carrier in Ukraine The article describes project 19004 bulk carrier of 175 000 t dwt developed by Ukranian Chernomorsudoproject S. A. under the contract with Z-Marine Services Ltd. The bulker is planned to be built in a dry-dock of Shipbuilding plant «Zaliv»

Reviewed as well is method of submarine fire resistance integral estimate and of development of recommendations on fire struggling and fires results. Fire resistance of submarines’ various design versions are comparatively analyzed as well as the influence of onboard electrical equipment and electronics heat resistance amplification on submarines fire resistance.

Usenkov Analyzed is principal possibility of on-line tightness inspection of fuel elements cans and pipe heaters of steam generators on the basis of gamma-ray spectrometry of primary coolant circuit protective gas of shipboard reactor plant with liquid-metal coolant by the example of one of the projects being developed. The features of tightness failure on its initial stage and steam generator leak occurrence can be identified with the help of adapted analog of multi-purpose portable spectrometer-dosimeter «Spedog».
