CIVIL SHIPBUILDING

Egorov G. V., Ilnitsky I. A., Tonyuk V. I. Multipurpose dry-cargo river-sea going «Volgo-Don max»-class vessels of «Nadezhda» and «Tanais» types

Analyzed in the article are main characteristics and distinctive features of two types of dry-cargo vessels with maximum possible deadweight according to limitations of Unified Deep Water System of the former USSR and with sufficient strength and transitivity properties for all-the-year-round operation in different seas.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Gavrilyuk L. P., Komok A. I. Modular concepts of combatant ships building. Problems and ways of solution

The authors examine and analyze modular concepts of the world shipbuilding experience and formulate main problems of creating ships with armament modules, including loss of effective capacity and positioning of modules when replaced. The abovementioned problems require integrated design and technological approach.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Kurensky A. V., Gribinichenko M. V. Axial hybrid petal gas-lubricated bearings for marine turbo-machines

Examined in the article are gas-lubricated bearings for turbomachines’ rotors of different purposes, including marine energetics (turbo-superchargers on marine combustion engines, turbo-expanders of air refrigerating machines for fishing fleet). Also described are the ways to increase gas-lubricated axial bearings load-carrying capacity.

Kuznetsov S. E., Kudryavtsev Yu. V. Influence of load and power factor on marine synchronous generator efficiency

Represented in the article are formulas for calculation of synchronous generator capacity loss and efficiency in view of load, frequency, voltage and power factor variation. Also adduced are calculations of loss and efficiency of marine synchronous generator with nominal capacity of 763 kW in view of load and power factor variation. The authors compare calculation results with ratings.

SHIPBOARD EQUIPMENT

Martirosov G. G. Analysis of seaworthiness and operational reliability of icebreakers and ice ships with propulsion systems having fixed-pitch and controllable-pitch propellers

The author compares ice-worthiness and operational reliability of icebreakers and icebreaking transport ships with fixed-pitch and controllable-pitch propellers differing by their propulsion systems. Examined is ship’s way when maneuvering and when going through ice. The author concludes that controllable-pitch propellers allow to increase ship’s ice-worthiness and average cruising speed due to the powerplant working at full capacity in any operating mode.

Bashurov B. P., Nikolaev I. N., Gritsenko M. V., Brezhnev A. V. Seagoing ships rudder propellers vibration monitoring

The article represents the results of vibration monitoring of rudder propellers of different manufacturers within the wide range of loading. The authors give recommendations on the rates of rudder propellers vibration depending on main engines’ operating mode.

Gorin S. V., Kuklin M. V. Efficiency of elastic inertial elements used to reduce hull systems’ hydrodynamic noise

Considered in the article are test results of elastic inertial elements consisting of air-filled rubber covering acting as means of hydrodynamic noise reduction in hull systems. Recommended is optimum realization of such structures in order to enhance the ship’s vibroacoustic parameters.

SHIPBUILDING ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Kornev A. V. Experience of application of computer-aided optoelectronic measuring systems in shipbuilding

Analyzed in the article are the results of test application of modern measuring means on the basis of laser tracker, scanner and other noncontact 3-D measuring systems at some enterprises. Also shown are efficiency and advanced character of such instruments in view of accuracy increase and labour content decrease.

Trukhanov V.M., Komochkov V. A. New methods of scheduling of ships equipment scope of testing

Considered in the article is a new approach in scheduling of expensive objects testing. The results of investigations are introduced into a branch standard.

Orlov L. N., Sharapova D. M., Volynets V. L. Technological capabilities of hydrogen content decrease in welds when manufacturing and repairing ship hull structures

The authors show in the article that the decrease in welds hydrogen content when welding hull plates with powder wires of rutile type can be achieved on the stages of wire manufacturing and application.

SHIPREPAIR AND UTILIZATION

Grigoryev A. K. Operational experience of stern tube bearings with caprolan insert on atomic icebreaker «Yamal»

Analyzed in the article is the experience of operation of stern tube bearings with framing of materials «Kaprolon B» and «Thordon XL» as well as of rubber-ebonite and rubber plates. «Kaprolon B» ensures increased reliability of bearings.

Savinkin R. V. Lutsenko V. T. Operating in Pacific basin ships’ 10ХСНД steel shell plates wear

The article discloses wear-rate of shell plates manufactures of 10ХСНД steel for ships operation in Pacific basin. The wear-rate value was obtained from 40 fault detections.
