INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES
Aksenov A. A., Zhluktov S. V., Petrov A. S., Pechenuke A. V., Stankov B. N. FlowVision software as modern tool for ship profile design
Hereby profile of P. 23120 ship of «Elbrus» type is used to show capabilities and advantages of FlowVision – software for computational fluid dynamics.
Aksenov A. A., Zhluktov S. V., Platov S. A. FlowVision software system: numerical modeling of laminar-turbulent conversion at ship’s hull
The authors propose relatively simple turbulent model, allowing to calculate vessel specifications considering laminar-turbulent conversion.
SHIP POWER PLANTS
Bashurov B. P., Nosenko E. S., Sereda M. P., Zelenkov G. A. Estimating functional reliability heat exchanging units composing heat recovery systems for secondary power resources of diesel power plants
The authors submit results of statistic analysis in respect of functional reliability, on-site monitoring and summarizing of operational practice of heat exchange units composing heat recovery systems for secondary power resources of diesel power plants. Failure causes are given and classified, relevant quantitative information is provided. Provided are functional reliability rates in the form of MTBF and readiness factors. Failure flow dynamics and fault free operation probability is shown. Achieved are regressive, exponential and approximation dependencies in operation range.
SHIPBOARD SYSTEMS
Panamarev V. E., Nikolaev N. I. Estimation of power efficiency and environmental safety of tanker cargo operations
IMO has recently introduced additional indexes for compulsory use – EEDI (EnergyEfficiencyDesignIndex) for new and SEEMP (ShipEnergyEfficiencyManagementPlan) for existing vessels. These indexes and plans estimate cargo transportation efficiency from port to port (considering ballast passage) but do not estimate cargo operations efficiently and expenses for unloading of delivered cargo (CargoOperationEfficiencyIndex) and environmental safety (CargoOperationEnvironmentalSafetyIndex). This will allow to define ratio between fuel spent for unloading and amount of pollutants emitted in the atmosphere to amount of unloaded cargo in order to check energy efficiency of cargo operations and properly select cargo unloading system for new vessels.
Kulichkova E. A., Kuzmin S. A. Results of experimental surveys of stop valves vibration when operating in transient conditions
Consider reducing vibration of valve under transient conditions andreviewed the results of experimental research of ball valves vibration at different fluid velocity.
SHIPBUILDING MATERIALS
Oryschenko A. S., Golosienko S. A., Khlusova E. I. New generation of high-tensile hull steels
This article represents new generation of high-tensile hull steels with doping level reduced by 10–20% and low-energy consuming technology for quenching with rolling heat and annealing for mass production of rolled metal of up to 60 mm thickness. All this allows providing competitive costs for marine equipment design and construction, using relatively cheap construction steels, thus assisting development of northern regions and their subsequent protection from terrorist acts.
Teplyashin M. V., Ryltsov N. A., Taradonov V. S., Melnikov A. M. Rotary gates with backup fireproof seal with thermomechanical elastic recovery
The authors describe operational features of shipboard rotary gates, with backup fireproof seal with thermomechanical elastic recovery. Such design provides locking of ring channel, occurring during fire situation when polymeric sealant burns down.

This article reviews proposals on creation of service centers for ship steel processing and ship hulls manufacturing in Russian Federation. Specified are estimated program of service center, composition of main equipment, materiel flow diagram, main production workers composition.
Lyamin P. L., Kanaev D. N., Mikhailov A. O., Bitny-Shlyakhto M. V. Developing advanced technologies and ship systems as part of implementation of Federal target programs
The authors narrate about development of technologies and equipment for decommissioning, rehabilitation, reconstruction of nuclear hazardous structures in shipbuilding industry.
Kornev A. V. Feasibility to implement modern laser-based equipment for dimensional check at main stages of shipbuilding process
Hereby the authors describe necessity to reform measuring systems in shipbuilding industry on the basis of recent achievements in the field of both domestic and foreign measuring equipment (3D-measurements, laser scanning).
Smirnov V. I. Can invention activity become a contract clause?
The article specifies invention issues as part of governmental contracts implementation and employer/employee rights for protectable solutions acquired in course of R&D.
