A. Multi-purpose dry-cargo «Khazar»-type vessels of 7000 t deadweight for the Caspian Sea Stated are the principles for designing dry-cargo vessels for the Caspian Sea, including main elements selection, as well as vindication of class and classification restrictions. Presented is offered by the authors example of realization of approaches during designing a new series of multi-purpose dry-cargo vessels, pr.RSD19. The series is being manufactured on Volgograd shipyard according to the design of Marine Engineering Bureau.

Anosov V. N. The influence of board artificial cavities on high-speed vessel running resistance Reviewed are the problems of reducing high-speed vessels running resistance by means of producing artificial cavities on boards of a ship. Presented are experimental and theoretical results required to define characteristics of artificial cavities on boards of a ship and their effect on resistance of high-speed vessels running. Calculations show that for definite types of high-speed vessels going 45–50 knots those board cavities can reduce running resistance and power input of a ship by 7–10 %.

Ocean-going missile submarine, project 651Э, with auxiliary nuclear powerplant (ВАУ-6) Described is diesel-electric submarine K-68 equipped with auxiliary nuclear powerplant (ВАУ-6). The layout of submarine and general arrangement of equipment in ВАУ-6 powerplant is presented.

Bogdanov A. S., Ananyin E. V., Zabrodin A. A. About radar noticeability of modern submarines Reviewed are the problems of noticeability of submarines in a «periscope position». The risk factors of possible detection and identification by enemy are analyzed. The main purpose of contemporary investigations is emphasized, which lies in minimization of radar noticeability of retractable mast parts raised above sea surface.

Danilovsky A. G. Computer-aided design of marine powerplants. Objectives and tasks. Methodology and structure Analyzed are the questions of development of marine powerplants computer-aided design systems at initial cargo-carrying ships design stages. The objective of systems development is to provide the conditions for vast investigations of prospective ships, their powerplants and shipboard equipment performances required to revive domestic shipbuilding. Application of marine powerplants computer-aided design systems can be much effective in small-series shipbuilding.

Obozov A. A. Temperature monitoring of marine slow-speed diesel cylinders based on statistical criterion application Reviewed is construction of temperature monitoring algorithm of marine slow-speed diesel cylinders based on D-2 Makhalanobis statistical criterion application. The author shows the possible use of the procedure for algorithmization of diagnostic systems with high level automationon of data processing (with «teaching’ function) as well as in diagnosing algorithms for any other joint variation of marine diesel diagnostic parameters.

Shyrshyn A. S. The use of fluidal contact instruments and ozonizing for all-round air treatment in marine air-conditioning systems A new scheme of marine air-conditioning system with air concurrent bactericidal treatment and ionization is offered.

MARINE INSTRUMENT ENGINEERING

Grigoryev V. S., Grigoryev I. V., Mikhalenkov S. V., Shabardin A. N. Early detection of fire hazard situation Analyzed are prospective methods of upcoming fire early detection by indirect evidence. Advantages and disadvantages of well-known smoke sensitive (aerosol) fire-alarm boxes are compared. It is shown that electroinductive fire-alarm box provides new level of safety.

Katanovich A. A., Beda S. I. Underwater electromagnetic communication for divers Disadvantages of existing underwater communication for divers are shown. The authors offer principally new system of underwater electromagnetic communication between divers, support ship and between ships. Main performances of the system and electromagnetic antenna calculation are presented.

Evaluation of welding deformations of nose fairing and ski-jump blocks of «Admiral Gorshkov» heavy aircraft carrier hull Analyzed are the results of calculation of welding deformations of nose fairing and ski-jump blocks intended for welding into the main hull of aircraft carrier during its modernization.

SHIPREPAIR AND UTILIZATION

Sobolevsky A. A. Provision with required technical availability of a ship by improving its repairability Proposed is one of possible approaches to supply technical availability of a ship due to improving its repairability. The author offers mathematical statement of a problem of definition of maximum permissible average time of ship’s subsystems recovery.

Gutkin Yu. M. Regulating of load pressure of ships with huge overhang on dock support devices in dry docks. Reviewed are problems of regulating ship’s mass load transfer onto the dock bed. The author presents analysis algorithm allowing to evaluate the conformity of load-carrying ability of dry docks bed with weight-overall parameters of ships assumed to be docked in them, as well as the ways to overcome such nonconformity. Cited are the results of calculation of large ship with huge overhang docking in dry dock with restricted load-carrying ability.
