AT THE SHIPYARDS

SHIP DESIGN

Kobzev V. V., Plahov N. N., Nefedovitch A. V. Architectural and styling design of a ship as the basis for designing of its service compartments and workstations
The authors consider the approach to designing of control stations and workstations of specialists aboard the ship based on analysis of crew activities during fulfillment of typical combatant tasks.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Romanova N. S. Saint-Petersburg center of naval weapons
The article tells about the history of creation and activities of CRI "Hydropribor" that celebrates its 60-th anniversary in 2003. The main task of the institute is to provide Russian Navy with the best specimens of naval underwater technique.

Kuzin V. P., Rusetsky A. A. On the history of project 159 guard-ship development
Tactical and technical data on project 159 and its modifications, general schemes of weapons arrangement, features of power installations are given. History of their devel-opment is described.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Chachko V. S. Main equations of thermalphysic calculations of shipboard condensing installations in non-stationary modes
The author proposes equations for calculation of heat and hydraulic processes in shipboard condensing installations during development of natural circulation of cooling water and in case of emergency termination of cooling water circulation. Effect of taking into account of natural circulation of cooling water through inner contour of condensing installation upon maximum value of pressure in the installation at emergency modes is shown.

Sudarev A. V., Tihoplav V. Yu. On development of shipboard ceramic gas-turbine units
Description of a project of high-temperature gas-turbine engine with block gas-generator of 2.5 MW capacity is given. All components of engines went through multi-purpose tests. The authors tell about a design of gas-turbine engine of 1500 kW capacity developed in cooperation with Proletarsky factory that is based upon serial shipboard engine.

MARINE ELECTRICAL AND RADIO EQUIPMENT

Guydy B. V., Grek A. B., Kladovschikov S. B. Development of surface ship electric power systems by Leningrad-Saint-Petersburg shipbuilders
Brief evolution of electric power systems of national Navy surface ships from prewar years to the present time is considered. Role of Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg) research institutes and design bureaus in development of surface ship electric power systems is shown.

MARINE CONTROL SYSTEMS

Prikot A. S., Verba M. T. Particulars of modern shipboard gas-turbine unit control system
The article tells about design of shipboard gas-turbine unit control system with the use of computers. He presents the structure and particulars of the control system: video data acquisition, processing, recording, archiving and presentation, and also some issues of control design.

Markov V. G. Wide-band means of calibration of gauges for measuring of electromagnetic field strength in conducting mediums
The author considers problems of design and utilization of means of calibration of gauges for measuring of electromagnetic field strength in conducting mediums built upon traveling wave line and, in particular, TEM-wave chambers. Unsolved problems in utilization of such devices are underlined.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

Odegova O. V., Suslov A.I ., Golovko E. A. Masterload - integrated software package for shipboard computer
The authors give a description of capabilities of program package "Masterload - cargo plan - stability - strength - floodability" for shipboard computers.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS

Zdornov V. A., Novohatsky V. A. Modelation of ship's life cycle by methods of investment efficiency assessment
The authors give a model of ship's life cycle formed on the basis of methods of investments efficiency assessment by integral cost criterion as time dependence of integral cost that allow to assess the effect of ship's characteristics upon integral cost through all stages of life cycle.

SHIPBUILDING AND MARINE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

Lifson V. E.-Ya. Mobile high-frequency unit for stripping of rubber coats during breaking of submarine hulls
The author considers the experience of rubber coats stripping from outer hull surface during utilization of submarines. A new method and mobile high-frequency unit with autonomous cooling for stripping of coats are proposed. Description of design and technical features of the unit is given.

SHIPBUILDING MATERIALS

Frolov S. E. Methods of development of new macroheterogeneous composite materials and technological approaches to manufacturing of hull structures made of them
Method of development of structural multifunctional polymeric and metal-polymeric composite materials is analyzed. Conceptual base of technology of multi-layer macroheterogeneous materials processing into high-strength large-sized plates and shells of vessels and ships is described.

REPAIR AND MODERNIZATION OF SHIPS

Orlov I. A. Strategic partnership in the field of military-technical cooperation
The author tells about the experience of cooperation of FSUE NE "Zvezdochka" and Indian Navy in the field of ship repair and modernization.

UTILIZATION OF SHIPS

Mayorov A. P. Modeling of industrial process of nuclear submarines utilization
It is proposed, instead of determination of nuclear submarines utilization duration by given labour expenditures and number of workers allocated for this work, to use a method of monitoring this process with the use of main graph theory aspects.
