CIVIL SHIPBUILDING

Kholosha V. I., Kholosha M. V., Mytnik N. A. Benefits, harms and up-to-date prospects of increase in seriality when building civil ships The authors analyze the problems of civil ships’ serial building with provision for shipbuilding industry difficulties when constructing and modernizing the ships, as well as for the customer’s demands in each certain case.

Yakovlev A. Yu., Koval A. A. New researches in propellers cavitation (by proceedings of SMP’09 symposium) Examined are presented at SMP’09 symposium investigations concerning nonstationary forces on propeller blades and created pressure pulsations under the conditions of heterogeneous approach flow and blades cavitation. Accented are insufficiently known phenomenon of cavitation nature of broadband pressure pulsation spectrum as well as pulsation of forces on a blade at its own frequencies.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Nikiforov B. V., Chigaryov A. V., Lyapidov K. S., Kulabukhov A. M., Vlasov E. N. Lithium-ionic storage batteries as main electric energy sources for diesel-electric submarinesLithium-ionic storage batteries are compared to traditional for diesel-electric submarines lead acid ones. The authors present the results of preliminary evaluation of lithium-ionic batteries application and its influence on diesel-electric submarines’ combat effectiveness.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Grigoryev A. V., Umyarov D. V. The experience of electric generating plant designing for cargo-and-passenger ferry Represented in the article are the results of electric generating plant technical designing for project 00650 cargo-and-passenger ferry. The ferry was intended to operate in Baltic region on St.Petersburg—Kaliningrad shipping line.

Dorokhov A. F., Klimova E. V. Method of calculation of toxic constituent quantitative composition in exhaust gases of marine diesels Disclosed in the article are the problems of toxicity evaluation of marine diesels exhaust gases with instrumental and analytical methods. The authors analyze toxicity evaluation method specified by standard. They also propose mathematical model for determination harmful substances showing physical dependence of toxics concentration numerical values on external indicators of engine operating process in the form of transcendental dependences.

SHIPBOARD EQUIPMENT

Kochetkov I. V., Folomeyev A. N. Contemporary developments in the field of fiber optic technique for complex control systems for technical facilities of submarines The main problems of complex control systems for technical facilities and the ways of its development are cited in the article.

Genkin A. L., Guzhyev A. V., Moshkov V. N., Silyan A. M., Temnov V. N. Anaerobic thermal source on gas-free fuel for divers emergency heating Described are thermal diagrams of different types of anaerobic thermal sources and their possible application for divers heating. The authors give examples of performing a thermal source and a thermal diagram of divers emergency heating system on the basis of gas-free fuel application.

Nichiporenko N. T., Marenich I. E., Petrov A. V., Misyuchenko I., Trofimov B. S., Ushakov I. E. Oil spill detection using navigational radar station The authors show the possibility to use navigational radar to detect oil film on water surface without changing their design or disturbing their main purpose. The results of experimental research performed with millimeter range radar «Neva-B» are represented.

Pisarev A. O. Some particular features of shipboard oily waste water and the ways to increase the effectiveness of its treatment Increase of cargo and passenger traffic performed by river transport results in increase of detrimental emissions and discharges from ships into environment. Equipment for waste treatment on some ships is not able to meet the requirements of contemporary regulating documents. It is necessary therefore to modernize river fleet supplying it with modern highly effective systems.

ECONOMICS AND FINANCES

Rekhalova N. A., Lobastov V. P. Statement of the problem of construction cost control at early ship design stages Analyzed in the article are current methods of construction cost calculation for inland and river-marine vessels from the point of view of these methods application for ships’ cost estimation at early design stages. Also examined is possible use of these methods for particular case — vessels with used shipboard structures and machinery.

Sumenkov V. M., Sen L. I. Load and annual operating time effect upon optimized shipboard boiler plants performances Examined in the article is influence of load and annual operating time upon shipboard boiler plants performances. The authors propose to consider consumer properties of a boiler plant when selecting a boiler and to take into account the expected average load and annual operating time.
