CIVIL SHIPBUILDING

State of affairs in shipbuilding industry

Klimashevsky S. N. Innovation project of arctic tanker. Analyzed is conceptual project of a shuttle tanker developed by a group of Russian specialists and intended for liquid hydrocarbons deposits development in Northern seas. Considered are the problems of meeting various operational requirements. The advantages of adopted solutions as compared with existing ones are shown.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

CMDB «Almaz» HOLDS LEADING POSITION

Antonov A. M. Displacement and value – the interpenetration of opposites? Analyzed are correlation of submarines’ displacement and value with the level of their battle and service performance as well as with the standard of technologies applied during their creation. Quality interdependence of mentioned parameters is cited. Examined are experiences of creation of USSR (Russian) and USA naval submarines. Mechanism of growth of submarines’ displacement and value in the course of their evolution as well as mechanism of value growth in case of revolutionary development of technologies are illustrated.

Pustoshny A. V. Development of naval technologies exhibited on MAST 2008. The review of exhibits of annual Marine Systems and Technology Exhibition MAST 2008 that took place in November 12–14 in Cadiz (Spain).

Goropashnaya A. V. Logical-and-probabilistic analysis of naval ships safety in emergency situations Represented is logical-and-probabilistic method of evaluation of important events arising when developing emergences in case when continuity is presented as nonmonotonic gate function.

 SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Innovation technology of use of nuclear powerplants of being utilized nuclear submarines/V. D. Gorbach, V. V. Petukhov, P. L. Lyamin, N. I. Alexandrov, Yu. L. Borduchenko, V. G. Muramovich

Examined is possibility to use reactor compartments of being utilized nuclear submarines for building of floating nuclear electric power plants. It is demonstrated that critical brittle temperature shift resulting from neutron irradiation of submarines’ reactors bodies is insignificant and, thus, reactor power plants of nuclear submarines can reach the designed energy-producing.

Medvedev V. V. Methodic recommendations for risks prediction and evaluation when designing marine powerplants and its components. The article represents methodic recommendations for distribution, on the basis of «events tree» construction, the acceptable values of different kinds of risks for a ship as a whole amongst the components of «man-machine-environment» system, including powerplant and its components. Proposed is the sequence of operations when forecasting and evaluating the risks in order to ground the choice of the powerplant and its components version.

Samsonov A. V., Churilov V. L. Responsiveness of operational factors when defining fishing trawlers main engines’ power. Analyzed are the problems of operational factors responsiveness when carrying out calculations of fishing trawlers’ towing and running performances and when defining main engines power. The methodic of trawlers’ main engines power evaluation is proposed depending on the ship hull outer surface condition and environment.

SHIPBOARD EQUIPMENT

Loza A. A., Loza A. V. Economical aspects of the use of automatic steam convector heaters in galleys of civil and naval ships. Described are advantages of automatic steam convector heaters implementation on civil and naval ships. Also presented are concrete examples of outlay reduction when cooking using the abovementioned equipment.

ECONOMICS AND FINANCES

Zamukov V. V., Baburkin A. E., Doroschenko A. V., Stepanov V. S. Comparative analysis of construction cost of floating nuclear power plant with water-moderated and liquid-metal reactor. Presented are the results of calculation of construction cost of floating nuclear power plant with water-moderated and liquid-metal reactors.

SHIPBUILDING ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Gavrilyuk L. P. The concept of shipbuilding modernization. Analyzed is the logic of shipbuilding modernization subject to the concept of ship construction using typical zone armament units with unified assemblies and methods of their welding with targeted tolerance. The concept was developed by CRIST with the object to decrease sharply the price and to reduce the time of ships building and repair.

Antonova N. P., Kulikov V. P. Framework method of manufacturing complicated sections and blocks of civil and naval ships. The authors show the necessity of framework method of manufacturing complicated sections and blocks of civil and naval ships. Implementation of such method at JSCo «PO «Sevmash» when manufacturing sections and blocks of tanker’s ends and three-dimensional sections of aircraft carrier allowed to reject template jigs and to cut down expenses and preproduction time.

HISTORY OF SHIPBUILDING AND FLEET

Platonov A. V. Main caliber of «Sovetsky Soyuz»-type battleships. The author describes artillery armament systems carried by «Sovetsky Soyuz»-type battleships laid down in late 30-s. The above ships became a peak of domestic engineering conception in the appropriate field. The scheme of three-gun turret is also given.

Yarovoy V. V. The cruiser «Oryol». The author narrates about cargo-and-passenger steamer «Oryol» built for Voluntary fleet and converted in 1914 into auxiliary cruiser, about its participation in the events of the First World war of 1914–1918 and in the events of revolution in the Far East.
