CIVIL SHIPBUILDING

Reshetov N. A. The activity of International Maritime Organization regarding the development of goal standards of new ships building The author discusses the problems concerning the predicted introduction of goal standards of building of ships, the above standards being developed by Marine Safety Committee of International Maritime Organization. These standards should secure guaranteed ship operating safety during ship’s target life under the condition of its appropriate maintenance.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Novikov S. S. Ice resistance of submarines’ sonar system dome Formulated is the problem of calculation of sonar systems domes strength against ice loading. Various scenarios of interaction between submarine hull and ice are examined. The necessity to change the existing analysis technique is proved taking into account the peculiarities of sonar systems domes configuration as compared to hull configuration.

Pustoshny A. V. MAST 2007 – the second international marine systems exhibition and conference Reviewed are materials represented at the international exhibition MAST 2007 in Genoa, which allows recognizing basic trends of development of Navies and naval weapons systems.

Loza A. A., Loza A. V. Meals organizing on Russian battleships of the beginning of the 20th century and on contemporary corvettes The authors describe the organization of meals for officers and low ranks at the beginning of the 20th century as well as fundamentally new technology of serving a meal on modern ships.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Vasin I. M., Khomyak V. A., Grigoryev A. V. Comprehensive approach when creating marine electric power systems and plants When creating products applying science-intensive technologies The Central Research Institute of Ship Electrical Engineering and Technology uses comprehensive approach including computer-based technologies, mathematical, computer and physical simulation, conducting of computing and full-scale experiments, bench-tests and acceptance tests of equipment to be delivered, etc. The example of successful realization of such complicated science-intensive project is manufacturing, delivery and test runs of the first Russian unified electric generating plant on the basis of alternate current electromoving system on board a small hydrographic vessel «Vaygach», project 19910.

Yakovlev A. Yu. Method of analysis and investigation of propulsive devices with counter-rotating propellers Described is a method of analysis of counter-rotating propellers unsteady interaction. Among propulsors of this type are coaxial propellers, overlapping propellers and propulsor «swinging propeller behind main propeller». Nonsteady forces have to be computed using previously developed theory of propellers unsteady interaction. Computation accuracy has been verified experimentally. It is determined that propellers interaction can result in the increase in frequency content as well as in ripple amplitude of forces and moments on propeller.

Arkhipov G. A. Detailed thermal analysis of steam condenser by cooling area elements Presented are the facts of marine steam condensers strategy development. The strategy is based on detailed thermal analysis of condenser by cooling area (matrix) elements (areas). The areas are determined by the results of mathematical simulation of steam-air flow in condenser compartments. In thermal analysis of areas the attention is focused on heat transfer on the steam side which to a greater extent effects the efficiency of operating process in condensers and, therefore, effects the mass and dimensions of these heat-exchanging devices.

MARINE INSTRUMENT EQUIPMENT

Leuta A. A., Kuznetsov M. A. New trends in developing the equipment of shipboard technical facilities control systems Reviewed is the influence of static energy converters and information processing digital technologies on the development of ship-borne equipment of technical facilities control systems. The authors offer versions to optimize structural imaging of uninterruptible power systems of shipboard technical facilities control systems as well as to optimize structure and composition of peripheral data acquisition and processing appliances and general systems executive control means.

SHIPBUILDING ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Golland V. A., Khinskaya O. V., Khorosheva V. V., Artamonova E. A., Sudareva N. G., Tkachenko S. V., Supereko A. O. Application of adhesive, sealing materials and repair compounds in shipbuilding and ship repair Analyzed is situation with application of adhesive and sealing materials in domestic shipbuilding. Test results of the abovementioned «Henkel» materials are presented. The authors give technological recommendations on application of these materials and repair compounds.
