Fedotov P. A., Volkov A. S. A contribution to the problem of creation and perfection of modern control systems and technologies

Examined in the article is the structure of modern control systems for marine nuclear powerplants. The authors disclose the importance of control system’s bench development performed at a manufacturing plant in order to prevent software faults and give recommendations on the use of marine nuclear powerplant simulator when creating its control system.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Statsenko V. N., Sumenkov V. M. Rate of sedimentation on the gas side of marine boilers heating surface

The article discloses the results of examination of the rate of sedimentation on gas side of heat exchanging tubes using experimental probe where several values of surface heating temperature has been preset. There were carried out two series of experiments on combustion of regular fuel M100B and water-fuel emulsion on the basis of regular fuel with moisture content of 10–15% using ÊÂÃ-34Ê boilers. The results showed that incineration of water-fuel emulsions results not only in increase in this fuel combustion efficiency but also in reduce of the rate of sedimentation on the gas side of heating surfaces.

Sudarev A. V., Konakov V. G. Improvement of and profitability and ecological compatibility of gas turbine plants on the basis of ceramic modules paralleling

Analytical comparison of metal and ceramic marine single-block gas-turbine engines having the same thermodynamic scheme shows that the effectiveness of ceramic gas-turbine engines is 6–7% higher, while mass-and-overall characteristics being significantly smaller. The authors demonstrate that application of multi-module ceramic gas-turbine engine allows not only to reduce engine’s mass and volume but also to extend sea endurance, remove repairs downtime, significantly increase mean performance factor for exploitation period.

SHIPBOARD EQUIPMENT

Fomin A. P. Concerning new shipboard sewage systems’ design rules standard

The author examines the main theses of shipbuilding standard ÎÑÒ5Ð.5414–2010 «Shipboard sewage systems. Design rules» put into action on July 1, 2011 and meeting the requirements of international standards on sewage systems and pipelines rules of designing and methods of analysis. Disclosed is the structure of a new standard and the most significant differences from a previously in-force directives on systems’ design rules – ÐÄ5Ð.5414–79 and ÐÄ5Ð.5601–94.

Vakulov P. S. Design improvement and estimated evaluation of stress of expansion bellows discharging elements

Described in the article are design philosophy and disadvantages of existing expansion bellows (EB); also represented are the scheme and principle of operation of a new EB with modernized design of discharging element. Examined is the pattern of influence of operational loads on discharging element; the author represents the developed design procedure of stress evaluation of a new design of discharging element as well as the results of this element parameters calculation using the developed methodic. Technological advantages of exploitation of a new EB with modernized discharging element are shown.

Analyzed in the article are the problems of development, creation and testing of electro-hydraulic transducers on the basis of fast-acting electromagnetic valves for control of hydraulic actuators, that results in significantly increase in reliability, accuracy and stability of their operation amounting to follow-up control systems.

SHIPBUILDING ORGANIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Svetlikov V. A., Demchenko V. G. Prevention of but welds geometry distortion when building thin-wall hulls of aluminum alloys

The article represents the description of ways to prevent residual geometry distortion of butt weld joints of aluminum alloyed thin-wall hull structures’ plating (gradation, angularity, buckling) on the basis of single-pass series welding with fixed gap and constrained reverse weld forming in case of down-hand, vertical and horizontal welding.

Logunov V. V., Rozinov A. Ya. Evaluation of applicability of assemblers’ non-welded fasteners for metal structures

The authors represent the values of electromagnetic and air-assist vacuum holding force depending on metal structures’ surface condition. Described in the article are methods of electromagnets’ holding force definition depending on air-gaps size and design features of magnetic coil. Also presented are the results of investigations on defining the permissible mass of assemblers’ non-welded fasteners, as well as the curve of holding force changes.
