Its main characteristics are proposed, as well as the necessity to design new, more powerful atomic icebreakers.

Dry-cargo carriers under the projects of Baltsudoproekt Central Design Bureau The article cites the brief description and designed performance of dry-cargo carriers under the projects of Baltsudoproekt Central Design Bureau, the above mentioned projects being the basis of domestic cargo fleet.

Andreev S. V., Veretennikov V. N. «Nevsky»-type motorship-scow of new generation The author describes a new «Nevsky»-type motorship-scow Project 2810. The vessel with deadweight of 2500 tons is intended for transporting sand and sand-gravel mix on the Gulf of Finland – Neva river line.

Startsev S. B. Peculiarities of wing aerodynamics in the process of curvilinear motion The author presents the results of developing the vortex model of finite-span wing when rotating, and also describes the singularities of this model as opposed to the model of the wing linear motion, effecting the accuracy of calculations. On the basis of developed mathematical model a computer program has been created. The author presents the results of computation of aerohydrodynamic performance of differently configurated wings when rotating along the trajectory with different radii of curvature. The effect of curvilinear configutation of wing’s movement pattern on its torque-force loading is defined.

Vasin I. M., Grigoryev A. V., Makarov L. S. Small hydrographic vessel «Vaygach» Briefly reviewed is a small hydrographic type-ship «Vaygach», Project 19910, the acceptance tests of which were completed in the end of 2007.

SHIPBOARD POWER PLANTS

Grigoryev A. V., Glekler E. A., Ulitovsky D. I. The results of unified electric generating plant test runs of small hydrographic vessel «Vaygach» Reviewed are the results of test runs of unified electric generating plant on the basis of alternate current electromoving system with screw-rudders and semi-conducting frequency converters. In the course of test runs the electric generating plant stability as well as power factor were tested, and the quality of transient phenomena in ship’s electric power plant and electromoving system was defined. The results of factory and acceptance running trials of small hydrographic vessel «Vaygach» proved high operating characteristics and performance specification of unified electric generating plant with alternate current electromoving system.

Liquid neutralization of marine powerplants outburst Examined are some new designs of НГЖ-2 type liquid neutralizers with similar action but different embodiments. Research shows that CO and NO toxic gases concentration over the neutralizers is 20–30% reduced for CO2 and 60–100% for NO2. The analysis of outgoing smoke fumes shows a sharp decrease of soot particles content.

The effect of the surface layer state on cavitation erosion and cavitation damage kinetics of hydromachines blades Research of various processing methods effect on the state of steel 06X12H3Д surface layer and cavitation damage allowed to get a new concept of hydromachines’ blades surface layer cavitation damage kinetics. The author presents practical recommendations for efficient final polishing of large curved surfaces in order to provide high cavitation resistance of hydromachines components.

Data analytic safety monitoring systems – the guarantee to reduce accidents and catastrophes at sea Analyzed are accidents and disasters as well as their consequences. The conclusion is that the main reasons are untimely and inadequate measures taken in the early period. The author proposes new principles of formation of national universal safety control system. Its structural arrangement is examined as well as the scheme of analytical centers and highways.

Martynov V. L. Technique of light calculation for television systems of undersea vision The article describes the technique allowing to define the efficiency of undersea lighting instruments at the design stage of undersea television systems. The technique permits to determine the image quality of objects of search on television monitors. Design data are confirmed by the results of interdepartmental and state testing.

Technological measures to reduce residual welding strains are substantiated.
