AT THE SHIPYARDS

SHIP DESIGN

Dubrovskiy V. A. Comparison of vessels with outriggers and other multi-hull vessels
Differences of general arrangement, capacity, stability, strength, hull weight and maneuverability of multi-hull vessels and vessels with outriggers are analyzed.

Girin S. N. System of monitoring of river-marine vessels strength
The author tells about the system of continuous control of stress state of river-marine vessels hulls elaborated by Volga State Academy of Water Transport. The design features and operating principles of ÑÏÐ-3Ì unit are considered.

Postnov A. A. Elements of quality control in arrangement of shipboard equipment in compartments
Individual methods of evaluation of efficient arrangement of equipment in a ship's compartments are considered. The values of experimentally derived indexes of equipping for individual ship compartments are given. In the symbols of mathematical logic a criterion of efficient utilization of ship's compartments volume is proposed.

NAVAL SHIPBUILDING

Shanikhin E. N. "Pioneers" of domestic deep-water research area
The article illustrates the results of 35-years long activities of domestic shipbuilding in the field of elaboration of deep-water technical means of World Ocean development. Achievements and drawbacks of the first generation of deep-water units are pointed. Names of Russian designers of apparatus and participants of deep-water dives are given.

At the beginnings of the shipboard atomic power plants elaboration
The article tells about the history of establishment and activities of shipboard atomic power plants department in Central Research Institute No.1 of RF DD and its activities in the period from 1957 to 1997, the main tasks that were solved with the assistance of the department in the field of elaboration and upgrading of shipboard atomic power plants.

MARINE ELECTRICAL AND RADIO EQUIPMENT

Dmitriev B. F. Static and energy features of inverting transducers
The author analyzes static and energy features of inverting semiconductor transducers of a new component basis with various methods of manipulating and pulse-width adjustment of output voltage. He gives the dependences of input and output energy quality indexes and the recommendations for implementation of the considered transducer structures.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND ECONOMICS

Gorbach V. D. Competition in world shipbuilding
The author considers the tendencies of world shipbuilding development since 60s to the present time, influence of concentration and specialization in the world division of labor upon intensification of competitive activities of the shipbuilding nations.

SHIPBUILDING AND MARINE ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES

Kryzhevich G. B., Kutenev A. A. Utilization of welded corrugated panels in shipbuilding
The prospects of utilization in ship hull construction of new types of half-finished products - welded corrugated panels manufactured with the use of electron-beam or laser welding are considered. Comparison of weight of typical structures made from steel and aluminum alloys with the use of welded corrugated panels and according to the traditional technology is given.

German G. V. Electric installation works technology flexible to the changing production conditions
The paper considers the solution of complex and large-scale problem of elaboration of theoretical basis for management system for the technology of mounting of shipboard electrical equipment flexible to the changing production conditions. The developed algorithms, mathematical models and software are recommended for utilization in design and building of ships, planning and execution of electric installation works.

REPAIR AND MODERNIZATION OF SHIPS

Shusko L. A., Kaganer Yu. A. Calculation of shock waves at explosive scrapping of ship hulls
On the basis of numerous studies the dependences are derived for calculation of explosion field parameters; this allows to calculate the front speed and the excessive pressure, the duration of positive phase, the shape and the force of a shock wave.

Bashaev V.V, Smirnov M. A. Failure and repair of damper winding of propulsion electric motors of icebreakers "Taymyr" and "Vaygach"
The authors explain the possible causes of failures of damper winding of propulsion electric motors of nuclear icebreakers "Taymyr" and "Vaygach" and describe the technology of their repair aboard the ships.
