JSC SSTC took part in IMDS 2017

JSC  SSTC participated in the International Maritime Defence Show-2017 which is one of the world’s leading exhibitions in the areas of shipbuilding and marine weapons.  443 enterprises from 31 countries of the world were represented at the exhibition.  56 official delegations from 52 countries visited the IMDS-2017.

The opening ceremony of the IMDS-2017 was attended by the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation Mr. Dmitrii Rogozin, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the North-Western federal district Mr. Nikolai Tsukanov, the Governor of St. Petersburg Mr. Gennadii Poltavchenko, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian federal district Mr. Sergei Meniailo, Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Vladimir Korolev, and the assistant to the President of Russia in military-and-technical cooperation Mr. Vladimir Kozhin.

JSC “Shipbuilding & Shiprepair Technology Center” traditionally participated in the International Maritime Defence Show-2017 (IMDS-2017) and demonstrated its latest developments in the following areas:
-     Creation of on-shore facilities and infrastructure for the deployment, operation, technical maintenance and repair of surface ships and submarines;
-     Designing, modernization and technical re-equipment of shipbuilding and ship-repair yards;
-     Promising technologies for shipbuilding and ship-repair, including laser and robotized technologies, technologies for welding, cutting and bending of steel sheets and pipes and for cleaning of surfaces;
-     Designing of new-generation ships including special purpose vessels;
-     Naval metrology, methodology, instrumentation and equipment for aligning the naval high-precision weapon systems;
-     Implementation of virtual reality technologies in the areas of designing and support of processes of construction and technical maintenance of the products at shipbuilding enterprises;
-     Calculation and expertise of price formation, work quota setting and labour intensity;
-     Designing and tests of marine pipeline valves and fittings.

Particular interest for the visitors of the Show was the interactive model which uses the augmented virtual reality technology and demonstrates a modern shipbuilding complex in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Prospects of collaboration with JSC “Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky” were consolidated during IMDS-2017 by signing an agreement for production-technical cooperation.  This agreement is aimed at collaboration in acquiring, transferring and localizing, within the territory of the Russian Federation, the best available technologies in shipbuilding industry and marine equipment for both civil shipbuilding and military-industrial complex, including development and production of new types of ship equipment and components.

Within the framework of the International Maritime Defence Show, specialists of JSC SSTC organized an international scientific-practical conference “SCM MEMTS – 2017:  Simulation and Complex Modeling of Marine Equipment and Maritime Transportation Systems”.  Experts from Russia and other countries were invited to take part in this conference.

On 29-30 June, the Ninth international conference “Navy and shipbuilding in modern conditions” was held as part of the International Maritime Defence Show.  The conference focused on the issues of hydro-dynamics, durability, and technologies applied in present-day shipbuilding.

Deputy Director (Science and Production) of JSC SSTC Dr. L.G. Gorbov presented a paper “Role of JSC SSTC in the creation and development of the Naval shipbuilding” at the plenary session of the conference.
 
During the technical session “Technological aspects of building and repairing surface ships and submarines”, leading scientists and specialists from JSC SSTC presented to the conference participants their latest developments in the areas of hull building, mechanical engineering and pipe processing, laser and additive technologies.

Upon the results of the 8th International Maritime Defence Show, JSC SSTC was awarded a medal and a laureate diploma in nominations “Best exhibition display” and “Best exhibit”.
